East Stave Lake - Upper Sylvester Road & Lost Creek FSR CLEANUP

50 or more volunteers needed!  This w.ill be a mass cleanup of Lost Creek Forest Service Road and forest area surrounding the east portion of Stave Lake. Light snacks will be available.  We are partnering to support the 4Wheel Drive Association of BC with this cleanup.  Last time, we cleaned up 5,200 pounds in this area!  

• Meet at 9:30AM for Sign-in & Safety
• 4 Wheel Drive or All wheel drive vehicles are highly recommended. If you only have a regular vehicle, message us and we will have you meet & cleanup along the paved area of Sylvester Road which also needs TLC.
• Bring water, snacks, gloves, and good footwear.  There are often big items dumped around here.  Last cleanup we picked up at least 24 tires, a couple couches, a TV, etc.
• If anyone has a magnetic sweeper, please bring it.
• It will have to end no later then 3:30PM as we have to haul the garbage to the landfill before it closes.
• MESSociety will be paying for the disposal through funding provided by the Fraser Valley Regional District (special thanks to the FVRD!).
• Please note that we  photo-document and report any evidence of illegal dumping to the local Provincial Conservation Officers, FVRD, and City of Mission if applicable. Our efforts are not only to restore the natural area but to prevent it from happening again.

To volunteer for this event, you simple need to show up and sign-in at the MESSociety Volunteer tent.  Meet us at our popup tent that will be located approx. 3km up the Lost Creek Forest Service Road (where Sylvester Road goes from cement to a dirt road).  This area is just past the Davis Lake trailhead and you will see multiple trucks, cars and volunteer signage.
